Gearhouse goes Inhouse in the Western Cape Gearhouse and Ashraf Omar AV Network have announced the launch of a new company, Inhouse Venue Technical Management IVTM . Part of the Gearhouse group of companies, Inhouse VTM was formed to facilitate the supply and management of technical equipment and personnel within key venues across the Western Cape. T he service enables venues to rent in the latest equipment and technical expertise without incurring expensive capital outlay. Cutting edge lighting, audio, staging, audio-visual, daylight screens, power and rigging equipment coupled with experienced technical staff ensure that the event is seamless and there is also the additional benefit of an onsite branch to resolve any last minute eventualities. The joint venture is the culmination of years of discussion between Inhouse managing director Ashraf Omar and Gearhouse directors, which identified common goals and aspirations as well as a shared passion for the venue technical management business. Gearhouse Cape Town’s Venue Technical Management service has been absorbed by Inhouse and long-standing venue technical management contracts with the Arabella Sheraton Grand Hotel and the Lagoon Beach Hotel have been retained. A new contract with the Radisson SAS Hotel was recently added to the portfolio and the company is currently investigating further contracts in the Cape region. Long-term plans include a follow-on phase to extend the service into the other provinces within South Africa, as well as Africa. from this new company? “A level of technical service unlike anything they have previously experienced, with the emphasis firmly on the client. With a solid foundation in graphic design and marketing, Ashraf began his career compiling video productions for domestic and corporate clients. Always on the lookout for new systems to improve his service, he soon became proficient in the additional fields of TV production, dubbing, internet services, event staging and venue technical management. In 1995, he started AV Network, a specialist company catering to the television production facilities arena and the corporate AV staging market. The company has enjoyed significant growth and success since its inception and is known in the television and corporate event industries for its high delivery standards.
