GREATER EFFICIENCY FOR THE
TORTILLA CHIP PRODUCTION LINE
The Belgian snack food manufacturer Poco
Loco - one of the market leaders in Tex Mex
products - decided to modernize its plants to
increase the efficiency of its production lines
and thereby optimize its processes. The
configurable small controller PNOZmulti 2 and
corresponding software tool PNOZmulti
Configurator is as an efficient and safe solution
at Poco Loco.

FASTER ANALYSIS EQUALS SHORTER
DOWNTIMES!
The manufacture of snack products requires
a multi-part, interlinked production cycle.
Previously the plant sections were regarded as
individual units with separate emergency
shutdown circuits. That made troubleshooting
time-intensive and meant a large part of
production was stopped.

Pilz developed a concept to optimize these
processes. Now that the configurable small
controller PNOZmulti 2 is used, faults can be
located directly on the display and can be
rectified immediately. All safety functions are
easy to configure via the PNOZmulti
Configurator. Today, in the event of a
malfunction, only individual production
sections are stopped; the rest of production
can continue running efficiently. With these
adjustments Poco Loco was able to safeguard
production efficiently: downtimes have been
significantly reduced.
BENEFITS AND ADVANTAGES OF THE
SOLUTION:
* Different user levels and the fact that all
changes are recorded means that there is
good traceability as well as protection
against manipulation
* Simple and intuitive to use due to the
PNOZmulti Configurator - technical staff can
use it too
* Pilz supports its customers with many years
of expertise and effective training
