AkzoNobel Chemcraft
Chemcraft - leaders in quality, innovation and support
Chemcraft has almost 50 years' expertise producing highquality
industrial coatings for wood products. Its product
portfolio includes a range of coatings, stains and color
systems for professional wood finishes, including pre-and
post-catalyzed products, plus polyurethane and waterborne
technologies. The range of systems available is exhaustive
and includes top-to-bottom coatings from topcoats to
primers to hardeners, for many end uses.
Since 1976, it has provided the perfect finish for applications
such as kitchen cabinetry, furniture, office systems, store
fixtures, musical instruments, recreational vehicles and
yachts.
Chemcraft's market-leading reputation is testament not
only to the quality of its products, but also its commitment
to innovation and support, and its dedication to ensuring
its distribution partners and end-user customers get the
support they need to do the best possible job.
Every Chemcraft product goes through exhaustive testing
and quality checks before being introduced into the market
- reflecting its mission to produce the best products possible
and deliver them to the market competitively.
Innovation is built-in to the company's culture at all levels.
Based on the business's passion and deep experience in the
wood coatings industry, its specialists question the norm
to find fresh, new ways to meet the challenges faced by
customers today and tomorrow.
Unmatched support
Chemcraft is also recognized for the quality of support it
provides to both its distributors and end-users. It has a wide
footprint across North America, with sites in High Point, NC;
Salem, OR; Port Hope, ON; and Warwick, QC, from where
its teams of highly qualified sales and customer service
representatives work closely with distributors, building longterm
relationships and providing unmatched support for the
customers they serve. In addition, its technical teams provide
in-depth product and application training both on and off site,
from beginner to advanced, along with an impressive array of
product support materials.
The company has invested significantly in its digital support
capabilities, too. Its recently refreshed website, online
resources and growing social media platforms offer helpful
content for a growing community of likeminded woodworking
professionals.
Chemcraft is a brand of AkzoNobel, a global leader in paints
and coatings. Active in over 150 countries, AkzoNobel is an
expert in making sustainable coatings. Being part of the
AkzoNobel family means Chemcraft has access to research
and development operations, technologies and support
networks.
Innovation in action
Acquaduro is one of the latest additions to Chemcraft's
portfolio of wood coatings solutions that embodies its
approach to performance and sustainability. Acquaduro is a
2K polyurethane waterborne system that delivers excellent
water and chemical resistance, while also being low VOC, low
odor and virtually HAPs free.
Designed specifically for the cabinet, architectural millwork,
furniture and refinish markets, Acquaduro provides superior
water and chemical resistance and has high build and
excellent feel and appearance. Not only does it outperform
Architectural Woodwork Institute waterborne testing, it also
performs comparably to solventborne products.
The easy-to-apply coating is available as a clear or pigmented
tintable system, consisting of a topcoat, primer and hardener,
offers great sandability and has no recoat window.
Other innovative products in the Chemcraft portfolio include
OmniBuild Pro, a conversion varnish primer surfacer that
sets a new performance standard across the board. It offers
easy sanding, fast stack time, superior build and 24-hour pot
life, while its high-solids formulation provides superior build,
sag resistance and hide.
Similarly, Varicure Select and Variset Select, part of
Chemcraft's high-quality, premium pre-catalyzed product
line, both provide excellent moisture and chemical resistance
usually only found in higher performance - and higher cost
- technologies, while delivering a great look and a smooth
finish.
As part of AkzoNobel, a global leader in color, Chemcraft's
color expertise is unrivalled. Its team are experts in
identifying global trends and creating exciting color
palettes for the wood industry, in addition to color tools,
technologies, machinery and software, providing distributors
and end-user customers with a holistic approach to color.
