INDUSTRIAL FINISHING: AUTOMATIC LIQUID PAINT SPRAY GUNS
intelligent software algorithms offering greater reliability to
detect thinner surface or edge profiles, like typically found
with office furniture partitions or cabinets. The use of our next
generation of laser scanners allows for much faster and more
accurate visual detection, even as production conveying speeds
are trending higher.
The equipment used in Gema's Dynamic Contouring is key
GemaConnect
* New intelligent software algorithms offering greater reliability
to detect thinner surface or edge profiles, like typically found
with office furniture partitions or cabinets.
* The second generation of laser scanners, used for visual
detection, operate much faster and with greater precision and
accuracy, even as production conveying speeds are trending
higher.
* The software used in Gema's MagicControl 4.0 control console,
transmits the commands to the UA05 axis positioning unit for
precise movement of the powder coating spray gun.
* Each UA05 axis positioning unit functions independently and
is designed for quick, precise movement of the gun; and when
needed, operates within very close spacing (110 mm) between
each gun.
* In order to support an array of guns on one machine for the
most effective coverage, Gema's ZA16 Reciprocating Gun
Mover accommodates up to eight UA05 units.
We asked Gema if they have been able to increase the
throughput of paint by design changes, use of different materials
in the system, or new digital controls, to which officials
demonstrated how their new products perform such effectively:
Gema Connect
GemaConnect is a cloud-based, real-time digital management
tool that bundles all information from the coating line and
aggregates this data for the user. The dashboard provides and
visualizes consistent information across all Gema powder
coating lines, regardless of location.
Dynamic Contouring
With Dynamic Contouring users can achieve a higher level of
performance.
This is accomplished through the use of new
to achieving the performance. The software used in Gema's
MagicControl 4.0 control console, transmits the commands
to the UA05 axis positioning unit for precise movement of the
powder coating spray gun. Each UA05 axis positioning unit
functions independently and is designed for quick, precise
movement of the gun; and when needed, operates within very
close spacing (110 mm) between each gun. In order to support
an array of guns on one machine for the most effective coverage,
Gema's ZA16 Reciprocating Gun Mover accommodates up to
eight UA05 units.
We asked Gema what specific design changes in their
automatic guns do they find their customers are looking for.
Hale said " Many users are seeking more information in order
to monitor, analyze their system performance. GemaConnect
delivers a comprehensive information pool of data for monitoring
and analysis for operation and performance management of
their powder coating line. It provides an extensive and industrial
proven set of custom indicators and parameters that can be easily
viewed and used in decision making for corrections, production
optimization, and benchmarking. "
" For Dynamic Contouring, in order to exceed the needs of
the powder coating industry, Gema improved upon our existing
dynamic contouring solution by focusing on several critical
areas:
* Programming-free, automatic adjustment of the coating
settings based on the object geometry
* Automatic detection of any object geometry for optimal
spraying distance
* Detection of thin object contours without limitation of
conveyor speeds
* Reduction of the required operator training to a minimum. "
In short, the automatic spray guns mentioned above provide
effective results achieved from these product advancements and
they are increasing the ability to automatically detect and coat a
greater range of complex geometries.
