Janet Bauer, Boating Ontario CEO Appointed to the
Ontario Tourism Marketing Partnership Corporation
Janet Bauer, Boating Ontario CEO has been appointed to the Ontario Tourism
Marketing Partnership Corporation (OTMPC), Sector Advisory Committee for a twoyear term. OTMPC is an agency of the Government of Ontario with a vision to position Ontario as a preferred global destination. OTMPC works in collaboration with
tourism partners to drive economic growth and job creation in the tourism
industry, supporting 359,400 jobs and contributing $28 billion to Ontario's economy. This includes recreational boating. OTMPC's mission is to generate increased visitation by Ontario, Canadian and international tourists, enhance tourism expenditures in Ontario, and contribute to provincial economic prosperity through impactful
marketing and results oriented investment partnerships. Meeting three times a year,
the role and mandate of the Sector Advisory Committee is to provide OTMPC and
its Board with market expertise and input for identifying industry priorities,
issues, risks and opportunities as they arise; communicate trends across the sectors with a priority on experiences that align with OTMPC's strategic directions
and priorities and to communicate future market development activities and investments within the sectors.
With recreational boating
being recognized as a key sector of the tourism industry, this
appointment strengthens and
enhances Boating Ontario's
advocacy efforts on behalf of
recreational boating industry
in Ontario.
New Boating Safety App in Development for Canada
The NMMA recently secured a
$312,000 grant from the Search and
Rescue New Initiatives Fund (SARNIF) in
order to lead the development of a
boating safety smartphone app
on behalf of the Canadian recreational
boating industry. The interactive smartphone app will provide Canadian
boaters with the information they need
to boat safely on our waterways. It will
be launched in January 2017 to coincide
with boat show season across Canada
with a dedicated advertising campaign
to encourage Canadian boaters to
download the free app. Discover
Boating, the five regional marine trade
associations, the Canadian Power and
Sail Squadron and the app developer

recently met at the NMMA office in
Bolton to collaboratively establish the
framework for the content that will be
featured in this free boater's safety app.
Discover Boating is leading the overall
project on behalf of the NMMA and the
Canadian recreational boating industry.

Andy Lindsay Named Vice
President of Sales for Four
Winns and Scarab Jet in
the Americas
Laurent Fabre, President of Beneteau,
Four Winns and Scarab Jet for the
Americas, is pleased to announce the
promotion of Andy Lindsay to the position of Vice President of Sales for Four
Winns and Scarab Jet for the Americas.
Andy Lindsay will be based out of
Cadillac, MI, where both brands share
headquarters.
Part of Groupe Beneteau, Four
Winns and Scarab Jet are both premier
fiberglass boat brands and have a rich
history in the recreational marine industry. Andy Lindsay has participated in
Four Winns' growth since 1990 when he
joined the company as a Regional
Sales Manager. Since then, Lindsay has
held positions of increased responsibility and leadership, most recently serving
as National Sales Manager for the
United States and Canada for Four
Winns, Scarab Jet, Glastron and
Wellcraft.
Throughout his career, Lindsay has
been involved in all facets of the boat
building business having strategic input
to sales, marketing and product development. He has been directly involved
with all regions throughout the United
States and Canada and he has indepth knowledge of the needs and concerns of dealers across North America.
