The golf team wrapped the 2023-24 season with a third-place
finish at the United East Conference Championship hosted at the
Philmont Country Club on April 27-28. After finishing round one in
fifth place, the Chargers caught their stride led by Jake Rotelle ('26)
and Brady Wiggins ('26), who shot 82 and 76 respectively. Austin
Gerber ('24) and Kyle Ebersol ('26) also had quite a day on the
links, shooting 81 and 83. The Chargers shot a team score of 657
(+97), behind Penn College (+64) and Penn State Harrisburg (+73).
Rotelle and Wiggins earned First Team All-Conference, as Rotelle
placed third in the field for the second straight year while Wiggins

Men's Tennis
Men's tennis had some major turnover leading up to the season,
losing six players to graduation and bringing in several new
members, including first-year Head Coach Devon Clemmer ('23).
The men finished 1-15 with a 1-6 United East record, with the win
coming by way of a 7-2 victory over Clarks Summit in April. Lone
senior Caleb Cavaiani ('24) finished with four singles wins and six
doubles wins with Josh Jarvis ('25).
Women's Tennis
Women's tennis had a strong returning core with a sparse but
experienced roster, finishing 7-11 overall and 3-2 in the conference.
The season ended on a four-match win streak with crucial
conference victories over Penn State Berks and Penn State Abington
to clinch a spot in the United East Playoffs as the No. 3 seed in the
Volt Division. The team fell to No. 2 St. Mary's in the semifinals, and
with no graduating seniors, the future looks bright for this young
squad.
Men's & Women's Track & Field
This Chargers squad experienced many personal bests and
set school records, along with the team's inaugural season
competing for a conference championship. LBC joined the
United East in the first season track was a sponsored sport in
the conference. The first trip to the conference Outdoor Track
& Field Championships on May 4-5 at Penn State Behrend
resulted in sixth-place finishes for both the men (46 points) and
women (55.5 points). Mitchell Gray ('24) earned first place in the
5000-meter run with a time of 15:54.42, while Martha Weaver
('27) finished third in both the hammer throw and shotput.
Then for the NCCAA Outdoor Championships in Columbia, S.C.,
on May 8-10, the men's team also brought home a silver medal
and another school record. Gray competed in the 1500- and
10000-meter run, for which he earned a silver medal, while
Micah Richardson ('26) topped his own decathlon school record
set earlier this season. The 4x400 relay team of Adam Horning
('24), who also competed in the 400-meter hurdles, Jonathan
Collins ('24), Jaden Royal ('27) and Gray combined for a time of
3:41.68.
Club Beach Volleyball
A new club team, LBC's beach volleyball crew kicked off its
inaugural season on March 1. Coached by women's volleyball Head
Coach Julie Brubaker, the team played 12 matches in a five-week
span, finishing with a record of 2-10. Traveling to compete with
schools across several states, including Maryland, Virginia, North
Carolina and South Carolina, the Chargers picked up victories over
Spartanburg Methodist 3-2 and Millersville 5-0.
" I originally picked LBC because
my brother attended here.
After touring, I realized how
loving the community was,
and I knew LBC was the right
choice to help me grow
spiritually and become
better prepared for life
after college. Also, growing
up, I was never a part
of a Christian athletic
program, so being able
to play softball with likeminded
girls has been
pretty cool. God has
used LBC to put some
amazing people in my
life, for whom I am
forever grateful! "
" I chose LBC because I
wanted to learn more
about God and make my
faith my own. Two of my
sisters had gone to LBC.
When I started coming
to LBC, I was blessed
with amazing teams,
impactful coaches
and teachers, and
lifelong friends! I
praise the Lord
because He
placed me here
at LBC to learn
and glorify Him! "
