ach of us who have delved into The ECHO Magazine's 90th
Anniversary editions this past year have enjoyed traversing the
corridors of time, reliving the many rich experiences we have cherished
through our connections with Lancaster Bible College | Capital Seminary
& Graduate School.
For an institution to remain steadfastly dedicated to its original mission of
educating Christian students to think and live a biblical worldview and to
proclaim Christ by serving Him in the Church and society, some 90 years
later, is truly a testament to God's remarkable faithfulness. As we gaze into
the future, optimism abounds. Today, the global Church is experiencing
unprecedented growth, with an explosion of the gospel occurring before our
very eyes-50,000 people per day are coming to Christ worldwide!
While the Western Church may be experiencing decline, and the population
of the United States dwindling, LBC | Capital stands poised amidst boundless
opportunities, embracing new methodologies and innovative approaches
to equip individuals worldwide with the Word of God. We face an
unprecedented opportunity. Presently, there are 5 billion people across 4,500
language groups who lack access to the Scripture. In the United States, there
is one trained pastor for every 230 people, whereas outside the U.S., there is
only one trained pastor for every 450,000 people. Alarmingly, fewer than 5%
of pastors worldwide have received formal training, with the average pastor
having been a believer for a mere 14 months. This reality underscores our
clear mandate.
As we draw to a close our year of celebration, it is imperative that we ask the
Lord to instill within us a greater passion for both the world and our beloved
college. The global Church is witnessing exponential growth, and LBC will
undoubtedly play a pivotal role by harnessing migration patterns, fostering
partnerships and leveraging both formal and non-formal education through
innovative platforms of delivery.
Thanks to your unwavering support, Lancaster Bible College | Capital
Seminary & Graduate School is strategically positioned to explore new
methodologies and innovative approaches in imparting the Word to a new
generation. We trust this retrospective glance over 90 years will serve as a
poignant reminder that God accomplishes His work through the power of
the Holy Spirit, transcending the abilities and intellect of mere mortals.
