1970s
Phil Baisley ('75), author of
" The Same, But Different:
Ministry and the Quaker Pastor, "
has a piece of short nonfiction
called " Black Friday " appearing
in the new " Chicken Soup for
the Soul " book titled " Tales
of Christmas. " After 26 years,
Phil will retire in June 2025 from his position as
Professor of Pastoral Ministry at Earlham School of
Religion to devote more time to writing.
Jim Evans ('78) announced
the release of his latest book,
" Hopeless in America-Finding
an Anchor in the Cultural
Storm. " This is his second
book addressing the topic
of Cultural Christianity. His
first book, " Compassionate
Confrontation-A Christian
Response to Post-Christian
America, " has an accompanying study guide to
encourage group studies on the topic. Jim resides
in North Myrtle Beach, S.C., and serves as a guest
speaker and workshop facilitator.
1980s
Dr. Robert Yost's (WBC '82)
latest book, titled " 100 Christian
Classics: A Literary Bucket
List for the Thoughtful ChristFollower, "
was published in
August 2024 by College &
Clayton. This book was written
more with the church at large in
mind rather than the academy.
It is an authoritative source
of 100 books ranging from fiction and poetry to
devotional classics to works of modern scholarship.
Readers will encounter authors ranging from
Augustine of Hippo and John Bunyan to C. S.
Lewis and Tim Keller.
1990s
Terence Brosius ('92 & '05)
left the UMC on July 25, 2024
(surrendered credentials)
to become the new Senior
Pastor at Trinity Evangelical
Congregational Church in
Harrisburg, Pa. He moved to
the Hummelstown area with
his wife, Caren, and son, Scott.

John Withee ('94) published
his first book, " Mirrors of His
Majesty: The Glory of God
in a World of Wonders. " From
sunsets and wildlife to the fine
tuning of the universe, we
find ourselves in a world full
of beauty and natural wonder.
Drawing insights from John
Calvin, the early church fathers
and others, " Mirrors of His Majesty " calls upon
readers to pay close attention to the wonder all
around them and to see reflected in it the glorious
Creator behind it all.
2000s
Tonny Harris' ('03) latest
book, " Conception-One Man's
Worldview, " received several
five-star reviews on Amazon.
Josh ('03) and Sarah
(Palmateer '03) Pearson live
in Hummelstown, Pa., with
their son, Ezra, 16, and daughter,
Esther, 14. Sarah graduated
with her master's degree in
Psychology of Leadership
from Penn State in May. Both
Josh and Sarah love having the opportunity to
impact students and families in their roles at Milton
Hershey School.
2010s
Brett Derr ('12) graduated
with his Master of Divinity
from Westminster Theological
Seminary in May 2024. He and
his wife, Katelyn, live in West
Chester, Pa., with their children,
Kinsley, 5, and Rowan, 1. Brett is
teaching apologetics at Cairn
University.
Cathy Harris-Moore ('14)
became a substitute teacher
after graduation. She and her
husband, Fredrick Moore ('17),
went as a team to earn masters
degrees in leadership. In 2021,
they received their MSLs from
