" It's a great day to be a Charger! "
students choose LBC as the next chapter
It's a sentiment that has caught on
this academic year at Lancaster Bible
College. First declared over the summer
by LBC President Dr. Tommy Kiedis at the
all-employee gathering to kick off a new
year, the fun phrase is now used by staff,
student-athletes and more.
" Great things are happening at Lancaster
Bible College, " Kiedis said. " We're
excited that for the second fall in
a row, LBC celebrated the largest
enrollment in our history to start
a new academic year. It is indeed a
great day to be a Charger! "
LBC experienced a record-breaking total
enrollment of over 2,400 students who are
furthering their education on campus in
Lancaster, online or in a hybrid setting,
as they work toward certificates,
associate, bachelors, masters or
doctoral degrees. Also reflected
in the total number of students are
162 who are enrolled in non-degree
programs, as well as in LBC's high
school dual
enrollment
program
called
JumpStart.
" Every one of our
students has a story of why
they chose LBC, one that is part of the
greater story of how God is preparing them
for the good work He's called them to do, "
Kiedis added. " When a growing number of
in their story, our promise to them is this:
'We prepare students to flourish in college
and life, inside and outside the classroom,
from the conviction that Christ is real and
the Bible is true.' That means we want our
students to see how God's grand, redemptive
story frames every other story, and we can't
wait to see what He does in our students'
lives-both while they are at LBC and long
after graduation. "
A separate enrollment record was broken
within the incoming fall 2024 on-campus
undergraduate class; 286 of these students
began classes on Aug. 26 at 901 Eden Road,
with full-capacity dormitories. Hailing from
23 states and six countries outside the U.S.,
46% are student-athletes playing on 18 NCAA
Division III Charger sports teams. Among
these new students, the top three majors are
Business Administration, Early Childhood
Education and Psychology. They illustrate the
bonds within the LBC family, as 27 students
have a sibling who is a current LBC student
and 13 have an LBC alumnus parent. The
new class is part of the total on-campus
undergraduate population of 766 students.
Additionally, online education saw its largest
enrollment in LBC history this fall as well. For
the fall semester, 964 students were working
toward a degree fully online at the associate,
bachelors, masters and doctoral levels. Another
527 students enrolled in hybrid courses, with
both online and in-class learning opportunities
at various levels of education, for a total of
nearly 1,500 online and hybrid students
enrolled this fall.
