ou may have heard the phrase, " It takes a
village to... " Similarly, it takes a team of
committed faculty and staff to realize a
" Wildly Important Goal " that will enable Lancaster
Bible College | Capital Seminary & Graduate School
to expand its mission to students locally, nationally
and globally through online education.
Literally every area of the institution is working
with incredible unity to expand our online
program offerings, enhance the student
experience and increase student success in
order to provide LBC programs at every level
so that followers of Jesus are further equipped
to proclaim Christ in the Church and society-
wherever they may be. Each area of the institution
has a departmental goal related to the overall
institutional goal of increasing from 10 to 35
online programs by Dec. 31, 2022. As we closely
track these departmental goals, it is becoming
apparent that we are an institution with faculty
and staff who dream big!
Marketing and Recruiting have re-engineered their
approaches to lead generation, and the enhanced
strategy has already resulted in a very significant
increase in interest, applications and new students
in our new LBC Global programs.
To strengthen our efforts to support every
student the Lord leads to LBC | Capital, we have
transitioned our faculty advising model-one that
has its benefits and inherent limitations regarding
efficiency, student access and scalability-to
a Student Coaching model. Student Success
Coaches (SSCs) are now the primary point of
contact for LBC Global students. Each SSC is
holistically trained in all LBC Global programs,
policies and procedures related to student success.
SSCs are trained experts in one or a few programs
and generalists in all LBC Global undergraduate,
graduate and doctoral programs.
This SSC role supports individual students by
guiding their educational planning and progress,
connecting them with resources that will
maximize student success, proactively identifying
and helping remove barriers, and responding to
all types of issues identified by the student, or
by faculty members, that could impede student
progress. The Global Student Success Coach
uses a high-touch approach, maintaining a wide
network of connections and collaborating flexibly
with faculty and with other SSCs to ensure that
each student's experience is maximized in a
positive way. This model significantly reduces
volume on support offices, while drastically
increasing support for our LBC Global students.
Academic departments have experienced
heightened collaboration with the Global
Enrollment division and our Marketing Department
to ensure we are effectively reaching into target
markets and communicating the kingdomimpacting
benefits of an LBC | Capital education.
This year alone, academic departments, in close
collaboration with our Office of Digital Learning,
will build 17 brand-new online programs at the
certificate, undergraduate, graduate and doctoral
levels.
