oseph Shilalo ('17, '19 & '22) has lived a life engaged
in the " adventure of education, " as he puts it. Indeed,
his early pursuit of God came through his desire
to know a God who communicated His will in
written word. Joseph grew up in Kenya, a
member of the Maasai people. For Joseph,
nothing superseded the culture and
beliefs of his people. His experience
was characterized by bravery and
beauty but also violence and danger.
His faith was in gods of rain and
land and cattle with whom he
had no relationship.
