Your Pathway to Sustainability and Innovation |
Katie Griffith, Garry Pezzano
For organization leaders, so much of reality is in the now
figuring out how to operate stronger today amid endless
challenges to achieve quarterly targets and thrive in the
present state.
While certainly a necessity, one's sustainability or staying
power also means leveraging emerging technology to solve
tomorrow's challenges. The single biggest element that
encompasses so much of this is data and, more importantly,
how to apply it smartly for a competitive advantage.
Organizations are sitting on their own futures, and the
wealth of data that organizations and individuals alike
generate, if harnessed properly, can be used to design
creative solutions to big problems and opportunities for
differentiating one's value proposition.
To fully take advantage of the impacts of data and the
application of that data through emerging technologies,
companies must have both the business and tech talent
with the right skills, training, and knowledge of how to use
the breakthroughs in technology that are on the way.
The first step in harnessing the power of data is to create a
culture of innovation within the organization.

How a Successful Rebrand Addressed Changing
Demographics at Meadowood, Impacting Lead
Generation and Growth | John Kotsatos, Russ
Napolitano
In an ever-evolving society, it's vital for senior living
communities to stay current and relevant. This session
will explore the rebranding journey of Meadowood,
a non-profit Life Plan community located in
Pennsylvania. We will delve into how we transformed
the branding while maintaining core values and
essence. This comprehensive rebranding, in
response to changing demographics coupled with the
challenges of the pandemic, has not only rejuvenated
the image of Meadowood, but also elevated its online
presence, increased lead generation and solidified its
position in the senior living sector.

Enhancing Your Infection Control and Prevention
Programs | Annette Sanders
The pandemic has stressed our nursing home
infection control practices to nearly a breaking point.
Most nursing homes have had to regroup and revise
quickly over the past several years. The pandemic
and the regulations have pushed us to devote
greater resources and efforts to infection control and
prevention programs and practices. It is estimated that
1 to 3 million infections occur in nursing homes every
year, these numbers are staggering, and our resident
population remains susceptible and at risk. With,
infection control practices continuing to be a longstanding
concern nationally, the survey results support
this concern as F 880, infection control remains one
of the top cited deficiencies among nursing homes.
Nursing homes must create effective programs and
plans and focus on creating an environment where
infection control remains a top priority with everyday
care. Learn the critical elements of an effective
infection control program, and strategies to ensure
compliance.
4:15-5:15 p.m. | 31-D
Pennsylvania Teaching Nursing Home Collaborative:
Enhancing Nursing Home and School of Nursing
Partnerships | Maureen Saxon-Gioia
Recruitment, retention, and workforce challenges have
become the focus for many long-term care providers,
exacerbated by a decline in the workforce since
pre-pandemic times and misconceptions about the
unique care provided in nursing homes. This session
offers a unique opportunity to support nursing homes
in partnering with schools of nursing to welcome
students into their facilities. It also provides a platform
for sharing knowledge and experiences through the
Pennsylvania Teaching Nursing Home Collaborative
(PA TNHC), an initiative of the Jewish Healthcare
Foundation and The John A. Hartford Foundation.
The primary goals of this initiative are to address the
long-term care workforce shortage by introducing
nursing students to geriatric nursing, better preparing
the healthcare workforce, and enhancing the quality
of care within nursing homes. Participants will gain
valuable insights into strategies for engaging with the
Pennsylvania Teaching Nursing Home Collaborative,
with a focus on reinforcing the crucial role that nursing
homes play in resident care, workforce development,
recruitment, and the education of future healthcare
professionals.
