outside? Turn a long-handled tool into a
measuring stick! Lay a long-handled garden tool
on the ground. Using a permanent marker and
a tape measure, write inch and foot marks on
the handle. Next spring, when you need to space
plants a certain distance apart you'll have a
measuring device in your hand.

Activities
The 8th largest refracting telescope in North
America can be found at the Roper Mountain
Science Center in Greenville, SC, and is open
to planetarium guests who come for the Friday
Starry Nights Programs. After a look at the
current night sky, a feature movie, and a virtual
reality rollercoaster, all projected on the domed
ceiling, visitors may peer into the eyepiece of the
telescope to see infinity and beyond. RMQR+J8

Recipe
EGG SHAPED SEED FEEDERS
You will need:
1 packet of gelatin (approx. ¼ oz)
bag of birdseed
twine
hot water
plastic Easter Eggs
Directions:
Prepare the gelatin mixture, according to
the instructions on the packet. Mix this
mixture with 6 cups of birdseed. Work
quickly but mix the gelatin evenly through
the birdseed. Gently pack the mixture
into both sides of the plastic eggs. Avoid
packing too full, as this can hold moisture
and cause the egg to fall apart. Close
the eggs and set them aside to dry and
harden overnight. Once the eggs are dry
you can hang them up or place them on
the ground.
