HENDERSON COUNTY Don't Miss The Blue Ridge Parkway Headquarters and Visitors Center (Milepost 384): DID YOU Jump Off Rock in Laurel Park offers panoramic views of the Blue Ridge and Pisgah mountain ranges. Legend has it that an Indian maiden leapt to her death from the rock after learning her lover had been killed in battle. Located in Asheville, the visitor center offers free BRP maps, 70-seat theater, exhibits, retail shop, restrooms and hiking trails. The Folk Art Center is nearby (Milepost 382). This is a good jumping off spot to head 22 miles south to the bustling town of Hendersonville. Visit Hendersonville: The Book and Bee Café and Tea offers beautifullydecorated themed rooms and a menu filled with teas, scones, soups and sandwiches. Quaint charm also awaits at the 1898 Waverly Inn, the oldest surviving inn in Hendersonville.
