WHAT A FEELING
Lauren Sisler went out with girlfriends for a night
of dancing at Corned Beef & Co., where John
Willard approached her on the dance floor. They
hit it off immediately, bonding over their athletic
backgrounds, and dated long-distance for a year
before he moved to Alabama to be with Lauren.
John and Lauren were spending Christmas in
Marco Island, Florida, in 2018 with his family
when he offered to take Lauren out on the water
to show off the gulf and some islands. As they
pulled up to one of the islands and got off the
boat to explore, Lauren turned around to see
John on one knee, followed by his proposal. " It
was truly a magical moment, just he and I there
on that island together! "

SOMETHING JUST LIKE THIS
Due to COVID, the couple chose to have a small,
private ceremony in Alabama, where some of
their closest friends surprised them afterward to
celebrate. The big party came a year later, with a
bright color palette of jewel tones, metallics and
sparkle. They had a large spread of hor d'oeuvres
and food stations, along with dessert bites and a
candy bar. Not even rain could spoil the day, as
it stopped just as the ceremony started.
" As I took John's arm to walk out, the sun
came out, literally like curtains in the sky, "
Lauren says. " That wasn't a coincidence - that
was a blessing from God and both my parents,
who are no longer with us. It was absolutely
amazing in every way...and I'll never forget it. "
TIME OF THEIR LIVES
Lauren's parents passed away when she was 18;
to honor them, she had a special charm made
with their wedding photo and attached it to her
bouquet. She also shared a video with childhood
photos of her and John's lives, including a photo
of her mother at the venue, posing with a poster
of her crush, Patrick Swayze.
Along with a toast to honor them and those in
attendance, the fun continued thanks to Lauren's
former boss as their DJ, who kept the dance floor
moving all night long. And Lauren, a former
gymnast, couldn't resist doing a handstand in
her gown - and rapping " Ice Ice Baby " for the
crowd! " There was a lot of love for everyone in
attendance. ...We had an absolute blast! "
