A MEANT TO BE MOMENT
Emily Rinker and Sean Turk first met at Olde
Salem Brewing Company, though she was actually
on a date with someone else! But sparks flew and
soon she saved all of her date nights for him.
Months before the proposal, Sean sat down
with Emily's mother, sharing that he'd bought a
diamond and wanted her input before designing
the ring (R.M. Johnson would also design his
own custom band using his grandfather's favorite
ring). He later proposed in Los Angeles, wanting
to visit family to celebrate. " That day, Emily made
me the happiest guy standing in two shoes, " Sean
says. " It was and always will be one of, if not the,
most impactful week of my life, knowing I was
spending it with Nana and the woman I love. "

A PERFECT BACKUP PLAN
Like so many other couples, COVID curtailed
their original wedding plans, resulting in an
intimate outdoor ceremony at Sean's mother's
horse farm. When it came time to plan the
reception, the two opted for their own small
brewery in Salem as the venue; while it wasn't
the first (or second!) plan and perhaps not totally
traditional, it provided them an opportunity to
bring their friends and family together for an
amazing night, and felt like a wedding that had
been planned for months.
" Our reception ended up just like our ceremony
- intimate, fun, laidback and perfect for us, "
Emily says. " It just felt like a fun, relaxed party
with all of our favorite people! "
BREWING UP FUN
Their special day came together thanks in huge
part to their planner, who helped with multiple
pivots, and handled every detail no matter how
big or small. Their gorgeous centerpieces and
bouquets paired with the florals on the chandelier,
in the windows, entryway and throughout
the venue. An 11-piece brass band provided
high-energy fun outside, while a DJ kept tunes
playing inside.
" I think both of us agree that our favorite thing
about the wedding was getting to have so many
of our favorite people in the same place at the
same time, " Sean says. " Both the ceremony and
reception weekends were nonstop celebrations
with friends and family from all over the country! "
