TRAVEL THE WORLD WITH YOU
Kate Consavage had just started her first postgraduate
school job in Washington, DC, when
she met Ian Stanley at a work function. The two
immediately bonded over their shared love of
kayaking down the Potomoc River and Ian asked
her out for a kayaking adventure. She brought
her 60-pound shepherd sidekick, Duke, and the
three have been adventuring together ever since.
Ian and Kate love to travel for work and play.
On a trip to Chile and Argentina, Ian took Kate
to a winery for a private tour, claiming they were
early. As Kate admired the gorgeous view, she
turned to find Ian on one knee, later discovering
an internationally-known photographer had
captured the once-in-a-lifetime proposal for her.

PAWS DOWN THE AISLE
Because it would be months before they could
celebrate with friends and family, Kate and Ian
eloped in their backyard with their parents
and her best friend. When it came time for the
celebration, their venue was " love at first sight "
and offered a gift for them to gather in one place.
While they didn't have their original destination
wedding, the view of the apple orchards was
truly breathtaking.
Because Kate's father passed when she was
in college, it became clear who would walk her
down the aisle: her best friend and sidekick,
Duke! He even walked out with the bridal party
(and made sure to circle back to re-enter with the
newlyweds) with a big grin on his face.
UNSTOPPABLE CELEBRATION
Kate was excited to offer their favorite foods like
seafood paella and filet mignon. They also had
three signature cocktails - the Apple Margarita
for Kate, a Mountain Mule for Ian and The
Salty Brothers dedicated to Duke and their
rabbit, Sushi - along with wine to honor their
engagement (and original wedding plans) at the
vineyard back in Colchagua, Chile.The couple
saw every guest on the dance floor, thanks to
their DJ playing a mix of hits inspired by the
couple's favorite suggestions.
" We had countless [people] tell us it was the
best playlist they ever heard at a wedding, " Kate
says. " He kept almost our entire party dancing
the night away until the last bus left at 1 a.m.! "
