A HAPPY SURPRISE
Madison Smith and Nicholas " Nico " Drennan
met through mutual friends at Radford University,
becoming best friends first before falling for
each other.
Nico kept his proposal plans a complete secret,
even during a funny moment where Lauren, out
of the blue, teased him about proposing that very
same day. The two went into downtown Roanoke
for a concert, and Nico paused by a fountain.
As Madison moved to look at something he'd
noted, she instead turned to find him on one
knee. After getting over her shock, she said yes
and discovered her best friend taking pictures of
the entire moment. " Just thinking about it gives
me the same butterflies I got that day! "

BEE SWEET
Madison's rustic yet modern theme featured
navy and dusty blue shades. Their ceremony
took place by the pond with rolling hills and
mountains in the background, while the rustic
chic barn provided the reception space. Madison
and her bridesmaids also stayed in the Manor
House the night before the wedding, while she
and Nico stayed there to celebrate as newlyweds
after the wedding ended.
Guests received small honey jars that read
" Meant to Bee " with their name and wedding
date. They also enjoyed the wedding cake made by
Nico's aunt, who has been featured on " Amazing
Wedding Cakes " and created a cake that was " not
only stunning, but delicious! "
THE GLOW OF LOVE
Madison particularly loves that they were married
at a farm with a pumpkin patch in the fall.
During college, she and Nico would visit the
farm for festivities or take relatives by to enjoy
the experience. On one visit for photos, she
and Nico discussed how fun it would be to get
married there; they would have their first dance
in that same spot three years later.
While Madison has so many beloved memories,
her favorite would have to be the sparkler exit.
With their loved ones all lined up, their faces
glowing from the sparklers, Nico and Madison
walked out to share a kiss and a dip, creating a
magical moment as the people they hold so close
to their hearts cheered them on.
