A SUNRISE PROPOSAL
Sara Tichenor and Jeremy Dougherty met through
mutual married friends on Valentine's Day
weekend on a blind date. After going to dinner
together, the group went to a single and mingles
night, where she put " Marge " on her nametag,
while he added " Homer " to his. Three days later,
Jeremy left for Afghanistan; they kept in touch
via email, phone and packages until he returned
eight months later, when they reunited and
officially began their relationship.
Sara and Jeremy always watch the sunrise at
least once on their annual beach vacation. Jeremy
and their son, Cameron, went out to the beach
ahead of her one morning, and when Sara got
there, Jeremy went down on one knee to propose.

HONORING HERITAGE
Sara chose a modern boho theme with forest green,
navy and gold colors. Deep burgundy dahlias,
peach lisanthus, exotic protea and breathtaking
roses were center stage amongst a variety of
greenery, while centerpieces in tall cylinder vases
alternated with gold compotes on tables.
The groomsmen wore " Game of Thrones "
Hand of the King pendants, while Jeremy added
a green-and-gold four-leaf clover to represent
his Irish heritage. Their officiant, a close friend,
added an Irish poem at the end to honor Jeremy
as well. The couple also handpicked all their
songs for the wedding, over seven hours' worth
of music! They also hosted a photo booth with
different props and a faux greenery backdrop.
SAVORING EVERY MOMENT
Guests arrived to the reception to find margarita
shooters offered before finding their seats. The
couple showed off their love of Mexican cuisine
with a taco and fajita bar, while a dessert bar offered
salted caramel, peanut butter and chocolate fudge
cupcakes, along with cookies. A late-night snack
of warm grilled cheese sandwiches and tomato
soup shooters followed - yum!
The two recollect different favorite memories -
Sara will always remember the moment of being
surrounded by all of their friends and family; for
Jeremy, it was their secret last slow dance together,
just the two of them in the venue. " It gave us
that 'soak it in' feeling that was such a moment
to savor, " Sara says.
