RIGHT AROUND THE CORNER
Marshall Kiser and Callie Ganoe attended the
same church for a few years before they had a class
together in their senior year of high school. It
wasn't until they started dating that they realized
they only lived a few blocks apart!
Callie was cooking dinner one Sunday night
when she turned around to ask Marshall a
question. Instead, she found him on one knee
with a ring in his hand; he told her how much
he loved her and asked her to marry him, to
which she started crying and of course said yes!
SPARKLING MEMORIES
Callie wanted the theme as " fireflies on a starry
night " and chose their venue specifically for the
68 | REAL WEDDINGS
breathtaking ceremony views, especially with the
setting sun as their backdrop. Their sparkler exit
was also one of her favorite parts, coinciding
with her theme and providing one of the best
moments of the night, as everyone lined up to
let them run through the lights. " It was such a
beautiful day and to end it on the sparklers was
so much fun! " she says.
Callie honored her grandfather by adding his
wedding band to her bouquet, and the couple
honored their puppy, who they'd lost to cancer,
with a tie pin and cufflinks that bore a picture
of him. The ceremony included a flower man
instead of a flower girl, who danced down the
aisle while throwing petals from a fanny pack
onto the guests and bridesmaids.
LOVE YOU ALWAYS
Though the two-tiered cake and cupcakes were
everything Callie had hoped for, her favorite
memory is getting a first look with her father.
She didn't know what to expect in his reaction,
but when he opened his eyes to see her, he began
to cry, which made her cry, too. She gave him
cufflinks with a photo of him holding her as a
baby that read " I loved you first. " Marshall recalls
the hilarious moment the photographer asked the
groomsmen to pick him up for a photo, and they
dropped him halfway through the first attempt!
The newlyweds are especially grateful to have
had their childhood pastor marry them, as they
couldn't have imagined anyone else having the
honor.
