TIME STOPS FOR YOU
Nicole Maalouf was attending medical school in
Roanoke when she joined the same gym as Adam
Shively. When Adam introduced himself, they
felt an instant connection. They shared pepperoni
pizza on their first date, stayed up talking so long
Nicole thought the clock was broken and have
been inseparable ever since.
Adam knew Nicole wanted an intimate, private
engagement, and so they shared a romantic
dinner together in sweatpants in their Boston
apartment before he proposed.
CLASSIC & TIMELESS
Nicole chose wedding colors of timeless black and
white, with Adam in a classic tuxedo that paired
70 | REAL WEDDINGS
with her incredible dress. She also incorporated
plenty of Lebanese music and dancing to honor
her heritage. The couple opted for a unity
ceremony with glass beads that will eventually
be transformed into a gorgeous glass sculpture
memento for their home.
Nicole and Adam opted to walk down the
aisle together at the start of their ceremony,
a unique choice that provided a " beautiful,
meaningful way " to start off the evening and
their marriage together.
HALLOWEEN FUN
Since the wedding took place on a Halloween
weekend, the newlyweds couldn't resist offering
guests a candy bar for favors, which the guests
loved. They also included a wide variety of fun
food stations with some of their favorite dishes,
including sliders, lo mein and kebabs. Guests
were able to enjoy the evening on the rooftop
with incredible views of downtown Roanoke
(and its mountain setting), take photos and
grab champagne glasses at their customized neon
backdrop and dance the night away together.
Nicole and Adam will never forget the feeling
of being surrounded by all of their loved ones,
and to share in such a special day.
" Our favorite part of the day was being reunited
with all of our favorite friends and family, " Nicole
says. " It was so awesome to see our loved ones
from all of our different phases and stages in life
mingling, eating and dancing together! "
