YOU FROM THE START
Juanita Byrd had just moved from out of state
when she first met Adam Stultz on a school bus
ride in 7th grade. As the years went on, their
feelings for one another just kept growing until
they became official junior year of high school.
Adam knew Juanita wasn't too keen on having
a grand, over-the-top proposal, so he decided an
intimate picnic along the Blue Ridge Parkway
complete with stunning mountain views was
just the right place to ask her to marry him. " He
nailed it, " Juanita says.
BEAUTY IN THE CHAOS
In the months and weeks leading up to the
wedding, almost all of Adam and Juanita's plans
58 | REAL WEDDINGS
were thrown completely off-kilter, right down
to the day of when a wind storm made its way
through! But in spite of it all, the couple says
they couldn't have asked for a more perfect
celebration of their love.
The pair thrifted their decor, furniture, rugs,
blankets, mirrors for signs, glasses and more, which
fit their bohemian and vintage theme to a tee.
Juanita put together all of the unique bouquets
herself using dried flowers, which complemented
the dark teal and burgundy dresses worn by her
bridesmaids and flower girls. Adam took care
of building the natural wood arch they married
under, and its simple design beautifully framed
the newlyweds as they shared their first kiss as
husband and wife.
FEELING THE LOVE
Adam's favorite memory of the day was when
he and Juanita exchanged vows and said " I do. "
" It was something I've waited for and looked
forward to for years! " Though it's hard for her to
pick just one, Juanita says getting photos taken
after the ceremony with the same photographer
who documented the pair's love story from the
very beginning was such a " surreal, " full-circle
moment.
The newlyweds ended the day by spending
time with family and friends and enjoying finger
foods, pizza, Chick-Fil-A and a dessert bar at
their reception. " The goal was to feel loved,
tie the knot and have a blast celebrating, " says
Juanita, and they did just that.
