HALLOWEEN HAPPILY EVER AFTER
Haley Scaggs and Darcey Lemus had both
recently moved to Richmond when they first
crossed paths at a local bar during a night out
with friends. Haley wasn't so sure about giving
Darcey her phone number right away, so she
suggested he follow her on Snapchat, where
they kept in touch.
The couple got all dressed up to go on a host
of nice dates throughout their weekend trip to
New Orleans, but Darcey, making the moment
extra memorable, waited until Halloween when
he and Haley were both decked out in full faces of
clown makeup to pop the question. " The photos
of our engagement definitely didn't look like I
expected, but we laugh about it today! " says Haley.

LET'S GET GROOVY
The pair chose an epic Studio 54 theme for their
big day. Guests got creative with their discoinspired
outfits; Haley even swapped out her dress
for the most fabulous pink and gold-sequined
Nadine Merabi jumpsuit during the reception.
Hundreds of disco balls lit up the whole venue,
and some even graced the bouquets.
A cozy lounge area with custom bars and the
colorful ball pit were a hit among guests who
needed a break from dancing but still wanted to
feel like a part of the party. Another focal point
was the multi-tiered orange and purple vintage
cake complete with a skeleton bride and groom
topper and " 'Til Death " neon sign backdrop - the
perfect odes to their Halloween weekend wedding.
A TALENTED TRIBE
Haley's family has worked in the wedding and event
industry for many years, and the couple couldn't
be more grateful for their help in making their
day so special. They got married at the family's
stunning historic venue, Haley's mom took care
of all things planning and florals, her sister served
as day-of coordinator, her brother with set up
and her dad with the menu and organizing the
couple's big exit in a 1970s Chevelle.
Finally taking a seat at the head table,
surrounded by friends and family, to soak in all
the incredible labors of love that went into their
celebration is still Haley's favorite memory of the
day. " I could not have done any of it without
them and the Sunnybrook team! "
