STARTED WITH A SWIPE
On the same day Cameron Austin moved back
to Roanoke, Patrick Rice decided it was time to
get back into the dating game. They matched on
Bumble and connected over their love of witty
banter and a " cross-genre cover. " The next week,
they went on their first date to Golden Cactus
Brewing before enjoying a nice dinner at Billy's
- the perfect blend of casual and sophisticated.
They've been together ever since!
Patrick popped the question in December 2022
on the couple's annual winter trip to Mountain
Lake Lodge. On a crisp, snowy night, they went
on a walk to admire the stars. Patrick knew it
was the right moment because Cameron hadn't
brought her phone with her - a rare occurrence!

NATURAL BEAUTY
It was only fitting that the pair tied the knot at
the lodge. It had been foggy the day before at
the rehearsal, but the morning of was sunny and
clear, giving way to breathtaking mountain vistas.
Before the ceremony, Cameron gave Patrick
a special gift - a printed book of their first
conversation! He and his son, serving as ring bearer,
arrived at the overlook before the bride made
her entrance, a stunning bouquet of eucalyptus,
foliage and maroon and blush-colored lisianthus,
dahlias, heirloom mums, scabiosas, amaranths
and celosias in hand. She and Patrick said I do
in front of a matching grounded arch of blooms,
providing a flawless floral moment without
obstructing the incredible mountain backdrop.
WEEKEND MOUNTAIN GETAWAY
The venue holds such a special place in the
couple's hearts that they decided to honor and
share it with loved ones in meaningful ways. With
many of their guests coming in from out of town,
they tried to make their celebration feel like a
" weekend getaway in the mountains, " and even
incorporated drawings of the venue on napkins,
cups, koozies, signage and more.
The newlyweds absolutely loved crashing
their cocktail hour. " It felt like we were making
a celebrity guest appearance! " Cameron says.
They danced the night away with friends and
family who took a quick break from the fun to
record well wishes and their best pieces of advice
for the happy couple on the audio guest book.
