Quelles pressions sur les habitats marins ?
anthropiques comme l'extraction de substrat, le tassement, l'abrasion, le remaniement des fonds...
En revanche cette carte ne prend pas en compte un
certain nombre de facteurs : les activités de loisir,
celles de la de Défense, le mouillage des navires
et les éoliennes en mer. Les perturbations sonores,
l'enrichissement nutritif et les pollutions par des
composés chimiques non plus.
Les pressions qui agissent physiquement sur les
habitats benthiques sont particulièrement intenses
en Manche orientale, dans la baie de Seine. Le golfe
Normand-Breton, la Bretagne sud, les pertuis charentais et l'embouchure de la Loire sont également
soumis à un cumul important de pressions.
La Méditerranée orientale semble, sur cette carte,
moins concernée par ces activités : le plateau continental prend fin à très courte distance du littoral. Les
activités humaines, qui ont très peu cours en dessous de 200 m de profondeur, sont concentrées sur
une bande très fine le long de la côte.

Le cumul des pressions sur les habitats benthiques
(les fonds sous-marins) est lié aux activités humaines qui s'y déroulent. Il n'est pas forcément
synonyme d'impact sur le milieu car leurs effets sont
très dépendants de la sensibilité à leur égard.
Sont prises en compte, dans cette carte, certaines
activités humaines comme la pêche au chalut de
fond, l'extraction de granulat, le dragage et les
cultures marines. Toutes ces activités interagissent
avec les fonds marins et génèrent des pressions
