Les interactions
En 1950, R. F. Bales a proposé une grille permettant d'identifier et de
décomposer les échanges possibles entre les membres du groupe en douze
catégories. Cette classification permet, à partir des réactions verbales des
membres du groupe, de distinguer deux zones :
- une zone socio-émotionnelle (expressions de sentiments positifs ou négatifs) ;
- une zone neutre (exécution de la tâche).
Le manager doit donc composer avec ces interactions pour animer le groupe ;
il doit être capable de les analyser et d'adapter son action par rapport à ces
interactions.

Dans la pratique, cette classification et ces interactions peuvent être rapprochées de la typologie de J. Holland (1973) qui identifie six types de personnalité : réaliste, investigateur, artistique, social, e
ntreprenant, conventionnel.
Les leviers d'action
Pour animer le groupe, le manager devra prendre en compte sept dimensions :
le fonctionnement du groupe, la production, l'apprentissage, l'implication des
membres du groupe, la régulation des relations, les relations avec l'environnement, l'évolution du groupe.
