Thème 6 - Production III Push and pull strategies Products used to be and are still shipped to stores for the consumers to see and decide whether to buy them. That is called a " push " strategy, for example when books are printed in bulk, shipped, and stored on the shelves of a bookstore. In a pull strategy which is closely linked to a marketing strategy, advertising campaigns are run to create demand among consumers. This demand prompts retailed to order stock from suppliers. When books are printed on demand according to orders that corresponds to a pull strategy. It is another way to optimize the production.
