Sur une même maturité et en fonction des différents niveaux des strikes,
les niveaux de volatilité peuvent aussi être différents ; ils représentent
alors le « smile » qui est la courbe de volatilité. Selon les anticipations des
traders, le niveau de volatilité peut donc être inférieur ou supérieur entre
une option à la monnaie et celui d'une option en dehors de la monnaie.
Écart entre le cours spot de l'actif sous-jacent et le prix d'exercice
Si l'action Axa cote 30,00 EUR, un call 150,00 EUR avec une échéance
trois mois aura une valeur presque nulle en raison de la très faible probabilité
d'atteindre un tel niveau, d'où l'importance du rapport entre le
cours de l'actif et le prix d'exercice.
Coût de portage de l'actif sous-jacent
Un trader doit être rentable et n'utiliser aucun fond propre de la banque
pour financer ses positions. Par conséquent, pour gérer sa position, il
empruntera quotidiennement dans le marché interbancaire en fonction
de ses besoins. Si les taux d'intérêt sont élevés, le coût d'une option sera
plus important en raison d'un coût de financement plus pénalisant.
Dividendes éventuels à percevoir
Tout détachement de dividende effectué durant la vie de l'option est pris
en compte dans le prix de l'option. Il est nécessaire de connaître les dates
de versements des dividendes par rapport à la date d'échéance de l'option.
Le modèle d'évaluation de la valeur des options le plus célèbre est celui
de Black & Scholes. Utilisant l'hypothèse que les cours de l'actif sousjacent
évoluent en fonction d'une loi de distribution qui est une loi lognormale,
Fisher Black et Myron Scholes ont développé un modèle
d'évaluation pour les options européennes :
