comprised of future executive-level staffers of the auto care
industry seeking industry connections and collaboration.
Present at the inaugural meeting were 2014 YANG Advisory
Council Members Michael Rukov, One Stop Parts Source;
Alena Van Cleave, A & Jay Automotive Warehouse; Chase
Baxley, The Parts House; Joe Davis, Maxi Automotive;

3. The third goal is to give back to the industry, which
includes a planned initiative to host an auto care industry
career fair at a selected university to draw new Millennial
recruits into this well-established and respected industry.
The Advisory Council planned two education sessions for
AAPEX 2014, the first of which will be held on Monday,
Nov. 3 on "Developing Millennial Leaders in the Auto Care
Industry" and the second will be held on Wednesday, Nov.
5 on "How to Network Effectively." The first YANG Happy
Hour will be held on Wednesday, Nov. 5, 4:30 p.m. - 6 p.m.
at the V-Bar in The Venetian Hotel. Details forthcoming.
YANG is already helping provide young professionals with
outstanding opportunities and connections in the industry.
Members have been invited to sit on the AWDA Board of
Governors and Manufacturers' Representative Council. In
addition, YANG is supporting the Auto Care Association

2. The second goal is to provide professional development
tools for members. To achieve this, the group plans
to offer networking opportunities at AAPEX including
education sessions and a happy hour, as well as
educational webinars for members to hone skills and

1. The first of these goals is for YANG to gain recognition
as the premier auto care industry young professionals
group. Some planned initiatives that fall under this
goal include creating key, synergistic partnerships
with industry organizations and hosting a successful
