MIKE Mohler, vice president,
Pronto and vice president, vendor
relations, 1Parts Global Aftermarket
Services, began his career in the
auto care industry 33 years ago,
receiving his Bachelor of Business
Administration degree in marketing at
the University of Louisiana at Monroe.
"I grew up in an 'auto care industry'
family, working through high school and
college for my father at a warehouse
distributor in Monroe, La.," said
Mohler. "I learned many important
lessons about how to operate, how
to treat your people, how to treat your
customers. I learned from the best!
"Upon college graduation, I knew
that a career in the auto business was
for me. Luckily, a gentleman named Ed
Neal with Federal-Mogul took a chance
on a wild-eyed, young man and offered
him a job as a territory sales manager,
in east Texas. Indeed, I am grateful."
Currently, at Pronto, Mohler
is responsible for day-to-day
vendor and program management
throughout North America and,
at 1Parts Global Aftermarket
Services, throughout Europe,
Northern Africa and Central Asia.
"Today, the Automotive Parts
Services Group (Pronto and
Federated), along with our colleagues
at ADI in Belgium, have built a new
company named 1Parts and we
are happy to have members in
Canada and Mexico as well."

One of the biggest issues facing the
auto care industry is competing with
well-known industries to attract and
retain new talent, according to Mohler.
As past chairman of the Auto Care
Association Education Committee,
Mohler played an instrumental part
in launching the Auto Care Jobs and
Career Development Program.
"At a time when the entire industry
is rebranding itself, while also reaching
out to the world with a corresponding
career and industry awareness
campaign, the Education Committee
- led by Sue Kalish, senior director,
education - has been at the 'tip of the
spear' pertaining to the message and
the messaging protocols," said Mohler.
"As chairman, I was fortunate to lead
a multi-faceted group of professional
over-achievers and I am thankful
for each and every one of them."
Mohler is also involved in the
Harley Owners Group, the Automotive
Aftermarket Rider's Club, CAWA, Kappa
Alpha Order, NAUI and is an avid video
gamer - "quite possibly the best 'over45' gamer you've never heard of."
Mohler's goals are clear: "Live,
learn, contribute, and make a positive
impact wherever I am. I would like
to leave the industry better than
when I found it. Wherever people are
making a difference, that's where I
am happy. That's where I'll be."
