MICHAEL Rukov started in the
industry when he was 28 at One
Stop Parts Source, and has been
making things happen in the
auto care industry ever since.
"I received a Next Step scholarship
in 2012, and became very involved
in the Auto Care Association,"
Rukov said. "I was very interested
in participating in Leadership
Days, because I think it is critical to
have young voices in our industry
represented at high-level events."
Rukov has been involved in
association's Education Committee
and is now helping develop its Careers
Initiative. But he views his biggest
accomplishment so far as co-founding
and helping create the association's
Young Auto Care Network Group
(YANG). YANG provides young auto
care professionals in their twenties and
thirties the opportunity to network with
industry peers, enhance knowledge
and improve leadership capabilities.
"We currently are on target to reach
400 members from all segments of
our industry and we are giving back
by educating this young talent," said
Rukov. "We have events and programs
for our members all year, including
multiple successful events at AAPEX.
We are excited to offer even more
opportunities to our YANGsters in 2015."
To young people in the industry,

Rukov offers this advice: "Education
and loyalty are important factors in
getting you where you want to go.
Get educated as much as you can
on all aspects about your current
job, and be patient. Loyalty is
valuable, and patience is a virtue."
As a self-described "true millennial,"
Rukov strives to be patient every
day - "I want things done now and
I cannot wait until tomorrow, but
finding that balance sets one apart."
Forward-thinking and passionate
about giving back, Rukov's longterm professional goal is to help
his company grow and be a widely
successful organization. He also strives
to achieve a work-life balance where
he can spend time with his wife and
kids while being able to stay involved
in the industry and get the job at his
company done right and timely.
"I believe that if I help my company
achieve its goals, I will in turn achieve
my professional and personal goals
as well," said Rukov. "And I am loyal
to this industry. I have been in other
industries, but I feel that once you
are in the auto care family and you
understand the value of it, you are not
going to leave. Let the vortex do its job."
