What have you learned from implementing
training and professional growth objectives?
That in addition to seeing improvements in all areas of their
business, McNeill Enterprises is now in a better position
to keep up with and prepare for what is happening in
the industry and their business - also to make better
decisions when faced with a new or unexpected situation.
What positive impacts have you found from investing
in your employees and their professional growth?
The McNeills have seen a huge number of positive
impacts by investing in themselves and their employees.
ƒ Keeping up-to-date with new vehicle technology -
Before the initiatives, they relied on their local parts
company to keep them advised of "when new things
were happening." Now they use their own initiative.
ƒ Change management is easier - Now that employees
communicate better and understand what it takes to
run a business, it is easier to make changes and keep
everyone on the "same page"; company leadership
abilities are enhanced - managing the present and
preparing for the future is clearer, not foggy.
ƒ Communication - Employees communicate
more with each other and not about each
other, and feel more confidence/empowerment
when explaining to customers why certain
products or services are recommended.

ƒ Willingness to learn - Employees are willing
to go to education and training programs
and take on new responsibilities.
ƒ Improved culture - There is more emphasis on
teamwork, accountability and recognition/pride by
employees of work well done by themselves and
their teammates, a safer work environment, and
understanding that working toward a goal is rewarding.
What are some of the ways fostering
education has further your company's
overall goals and objectives?
The McNeills have seen:
ƒ Cost reductions using analytics as a guide
ƒ Increased efficiency - especially
through use of computers
ƒ Increased revenue generation - and in
turn increased employee wages
ƒ Buy-in by employees
ƒ A social media presence
ƒ Increase productivity
Finally, the company was able to take advantage of
growth opportunity/expansion that wasn't in their
future plans, but with all the company improvements
they decided to take on the challenge.
