As we moved through the shop,
we looked at an M4 and a X7 that had
both seen better days. The M4 was
being disassembled and would ultimately
receive a new driver's fender,
door, and rear quarter panel, among
other repairs needed to the interior,
chassis, and suspension. The X7 had
been in an accident that ripped holes
in the body as well as cracked and
sheared many of the aluminum
rear suspension components. One of
D&V Autobody Masters specialities
is repairs to aluminum-bodied cars,
such as Audi, Tesla, and others.
Kevin says that they " take no
shortcuts, do the work correctly, and
provide outstanding service. " One of
the ways they accomplish this is by
attracting and employing the best
technicians in the industry. In addition
to providing healthcare, dental,
vision, and on-site amenities like the
gym or the stocked kitchen and break
room, they also offer a 401(k) retirement
plan for their employees.
When we started to talk about
our own personal favorite cars, Kevin
said that he's a huge fan of JDM cars
from the 1990s - the Supra, the
300ZX, the 3000 GT, and the RX-7.

repaint on a fourth generation Toyota
Supra (A80), which was gorgeous.
On the topic of special edition
Ferraris, some of you may remember
the accident that made international
news at Katie's Cars and Coffee a few
years ago - a Mercedes SL backed
over the hood of a Ferrari 458
Speciale. Guess who fixed that
famous Ferrari? Yes, it was D&V
Autobody Masters.
It was great to meet Kevin and
take an in-depth tour of D&V
Autobody Masters. The icing on the
cake was seeing so many luxury,
exotic, and classic vehicles under

db: What is the origin story of D&V
Autobody Masters?

Kevin: Dave and Vena Maharaj started
the company in 1986 after Dave
worked at several body shops in the
Washington, DC area starting in
1970. After 20 years working out of
his home-based shop, we opened our
Overland Drive location in Sterling,
VA. After 10 years at Overland Drive,
we opened up D&V Autobody
Masters to cater to aluminum-based,
European, luxury and exotic vehicles.
dB: What services does D&V
Autobody Masters provide?
Kevin: We provide collision repair
and paint work, general body and
paint work, complete paint jobs, and
many other services.
dB: What is your favorite part of your
job at D&V Autobody Masters?
Kevin: The best part of the job is
watching the customers' amazement
of how great their car looks after a
repair has been performed.
dB: What is your favorite customer
car or shop project?
Kevin: No favorites; I have equal love
for all of them! Favorite personal car?
No personal favorites, however I
