heating service and repairs, oil and
filter changes, B.G. fluid services,
steering and suspension repairs, 4 x 4
repairs, transmission servicing and
replacement, computer diagnostics,
battery service and replacement, tune
ups, replacement of belts and hoses,
shocks and struts, water pumps, and
much more. We are also a preferred
Jasper installer.
Over the last 40 years, we have
put a lot of effort into purchasing and
maintaining some of the best, newest,
and most modern equipment that is
available in the industry. This makes
servicing your car easier and gives
more cost-effective, quality service.
The computer information database
and scan tool diagnostic equipment
we use is updated regularly. Our
current tire mounting and balancing
equipment was purchased in 2015.
The alignment machine we use is
state of the art and was purchased in
2018. Even our battery servicing
equipment is new, top of the line, and
designed to work with modern
automobile batteries.
All of the employees at Carriage
House Automotive have received
training from nationally recognized
institutions such as the Bosch
Corporation, ASE, the Carquest
Technical Training Institute, the
Weber State University Automotive
Technology Program, Frederick

University, the Toyota T-Ten Program,
and many training seminars too
numerous to mention.

and so forth. I don't seem to have as
much time to do it as I would like
though.

dB: What is your favorite part of your
job at Carriage House Automotive?

dB: What is your favorite customer
car or shop project? Favorite
personal car?

Mark: A couple of things. I enjoy
seeing clients who are satisfied with
the work we have done for them.
It gives us all a sense of
accomplishment in a job well done.
I also enjoy working on promoting
the business, coming up with and
designing advertisements, signage,

Mark: Probably working on your
MINI Coopers! Gary Saylor, one of
our mechanics, enjoys it because it's
definitely a change of pace from the
usual auto servicing and repair work
we do. As I recall, we installed your
coilovers and camber plates, the oil
cooler, the headered exhaust and the

AFR gauge and sensor, the OS Giken
limited slip differential, the upgraded
JCW fuel injectors, the brake ducting
and the Wilwood " big brake " kit, and
the upgraded wheel hubs, not to
mention countless racing alignments.
Also, we have a client who has an
over-restored, red 1952 MG roadster.
We have done a lot of work on it for
him and he has it looking nicer than it
was when it was new. I like the oldfashioned styling. The car was made
in the 1950s but the British were a
little behind the times and the styling
makes it look like a 1930s-era car.
It's a lot of fun to see and attracts a lot
of attention when it is here.
dB: What is your favorite automotive /
motorsports event?
Mark: I am sorry to say it, but my
favorite car sporting events are
watching the crash-up derbys and the
" Tuff Car and Truck " competitions
at the local fairgrounds every fall.
I enjoy watching those cars get all
beat up, parts falling off, engines
overheating and catching on fire! Lots
of fun. (We obviously don't do that to
the cars that come in to our shop!)
dB: What is your favorite movie in the
car, car-chase, heist, or racing-related
genre?
