That Chevy was produced during my high
school years, which was a time when local car
dealers provided vehicles for the drivers' education
classes. I observed that the drivers' education
teachers favored the Nova, which at that time was
also the same vehicle used as a patrol vehicle by the
Los Angeles Sheriff's Department. Patrol cars are
really affordable sports sedans. Their mission in
life is clear: to provide maximum levels of speed,
road holding, handling, braking, and driver
comfort-all in the most durable, reliable, and
cheap-to-run package possible. If you add " fun to
drive " to that equation, don't you have the foundation
for the BMW 1600, the BMW 2002, and
the BMW 3 Series?

The fact that the Blazer RS drives like an
affordable sports sedan was very surprising.
There's a magical time of day when the Southern
California freeways systems are nearly empty,
occupied by people who know how to drive at high
rates of speed. Not only did the Blazer keep up
with traffic, there were several times where it set
the pace. Just for chuckles, we took the Blazer RS
on Little Tujunga Canyon Road. Whether in front
wheel drive or all-wheel drive mode, the smiles on
our faces spoke volumes about the entertainment
value of this SPORT utility vehicle. And yes, this
Blazer RS will keep up with a BMW X1, a
BMW X2, and a VW GTI.
In the land of luxury imports, the Blazer RS's
exterior styling made an attractive statement.
The interior design, while attractive, showed its
place in the market with the extensive use of hard
plastics.
So if you're seeking an affordable, mid-size
SUV that is fun to drive, check out the 2022
Chevrolet Blazer RS. It won't have you forgetting
about the BMW X1 or BMW X2, but you won't be
bored, as you would be with the balance of the
uninspired CamCord crossover SUV pack.
