Paul Miller did not participate in the Daytona Rolex 24 because their car had not been delivered in time. Going into the 2022 season, BMW M Team RLL will reduce their entry to a single car in GTD Pro in order to devote sufficient testing time to the development of the new LMDh car for 2023. Turner Motorsports was entered with their usual car in GTD. At Sebring, the Balance of Performance (BoP) for the M4 allowed a 15 kg weight reduction at Sebring compared to Daytona. Daytona is a special case with its long high-speed section on the banking. IMSA sees Sebring as being similar to Road Atlanta. Consequently, the rather unusual negative wing angle utilized at ■ Turner Motorsports entered an M4 GT3 for Auberlen, Foley and Dinan. Daytona was no longer part of the BoP. The enthusiasm from the drivers was nice to see. The fastest of the group was just over 2:00 minutes a lap. Qualifying started out well, but was interrupted by a red flag stoppage that prevented the M4s from achieving a top-of-the-field time. The eventual pole was in the mid 1:59s with Nick Yelloly still just above 2:00. He felt like he could have gotten below two minutes given enough time. After qualifying the drivers were excited in anticipation for the race and the improved pace of the car was apparent. The Turner M4 qualified an excellent second in GTD with the Paul Miller car in fourth, while the two BMW M Team RLL M4s were left in seventh and eighth in GTD Pro. 24 derBayerische
