Well, you asked for it...and now you got it! Car season is finally in full gear
and we're in the midst of another year of incredible NCC events. It's still not
too late to join autocross or karting since there are several months left and
our last HPDE is a few months out. All of our motorsport programs have
loyal followings while catering to beginners, so why not give one a try? You
know what is kind of crazy? We have 4000+ members in our area, and only
about 10-15% actually participate in events. Where are the rest of you?
I believe we run some incredible events and with CCA being a volunteer-run
organization, it's amazing we have so many great leaders willing to help out.
Do we offer events that members like? Have you attended something

that we can improve upon? Have you been a member for a while, but haven't
made it a point to come out? There are several events that are very 'low' risk.
All you have to do is show up or be willing to drive. Our monthly socials
are member meetups and we have them set up strategically around our
geographic footprint. While each location may not exactly be in your backyard,
why not come check one out? We do what we do best, hang out with
our cars, eat, and drink. Pretty easy stuff right?
We also meet at Hunt Valley Horsepower Cars & Coffee on the 2nd
Saturday of each month, where we have dedicated parking for CCA
members right in the middle of Maryland's largest weekly car show.
We typically have at least one Driving Tour a month, and these are such a
fan favorite that members end up bringing their friends, family, significant
others, and sometimes their dogs. We carefully develop amazing routes,
hitting some of the best back roads in the area. Half-day tours usually have
a few pit stops and end up at lunch somewhere, so why not experience your
Ultimate Driving Machine on a driving tour with fellow members?
There are some pretty big events coming up in the next few months.
Back for a second year is our BMW Block Party at RevTech in Sterling, VA.
Not only will there be a DIY, there will be a car show, dyno sessions, food
trucks, and a DJ to get the party started. In August, we return to Virginia
International Raceway (VIR) for IMSA weekend to cheer on all the BMW race
teams. This is my favorite event of the year, and if you've never attended,
you're really missing out. Our BMW car corral & hospitality tent is by far
the best way to watch the action. There will be race-team visits, parade laps,
tons of giveaways, front-row seating, catered meals, and plenty more. This
is guaranteed to be an unbelievable weekend. Finally, for those who want
the ultimate BMW escape, this year's national CCA event,
O'Fest Forever, is back on the East Coast. Car club members from all over
the world will converge on Newport, RI, for our annual Fall getaway.
We'll have a caravan leaving from the D.C. area, so get those PTO days
scheduled and we'll see you there!
As you can see, we focus and spend our resources on giving our
members a truly rewarding experience by providing top tier events to enjoy.
2023 will be another 120+ event-day year. Think about that for a minute, we
have averaged an event every three calendar days for more than ten years
(except in 2020, and I mean, who remembers much about that time period?).
And yet, we don't see 80 percent of our base annually.
I urge you to make the most of your membership and come out to an
event. We share the passion for BMWs, so you'll be pleasantly surprised to
find out that we are a very fun group to hang out with. I've met some of my
closest friends over the past 15 years of being a member, and it all started
when I decided to see for myself what this club does so well.
My strong interest in BMWs eventually turned into a passion where I can
combine cars with helping people have fun... I wouldn't have it any other way.
