President'sMessage
As I write this President's Message, I'm planning and packing for my
annual trip to the Rolex 24 Hours of Daytona. There is single-digit wind
chill outside and residual snow/ice on the ground, so I'm sure many of
you are really sympathetic to my cause. It has become an annual ritual
for this race to mark a new year for me; forget about January 1st.
I'm truly excited to experience the new BMW M4 GT3 in person.

I'm also thrilled for this event because fellow CCA friends from across
the country will be there too. While I've made this trek many years in a
row, a few months ago I conspired at the Hilton Head O'Fest to recruit
a few others for this awesome weekend. My hard work paid off as I had
to find an Airbnb to hold seven people...party time! It's examples like
these that make this club special; the people always make the event,
not the other way around. I could have watched the race at turn one by
myself, but I could have done that at home. Hanging with friends and
creating memories is what Daytona is to me; it doesn't matter if it rains
or if BMW RLL doesn't finish.
I say all of this because the club has an incredible history of
putting on fantastic events, led by club members and volunteers that
would give the shirt off their back to make the day special. The vast
majority of club members never attend any events, and I'm here to tell
you that you are really missing out. This year, NCC will put on more
than 100 event days, like we do every year. We're the most active
chapter by far, and I can guarantee we have everything a car enthusiast
would want. Whether you like to work on your car, take it to the track,
cruise through the countryside, or just talk about the latest and
greatest, we have all of that and more! As we approach warmer
weather, I challenge all club members to try out a few new events.
You won't be alone. Our volunteers will guide you through it, offering
their helpful hints in case things get hectic. Make sure to check our
website calendar because more events are being added every day.
You'll see that NCC Autocross, High-Performance Driving Education
(HPDE), M Club Days, and others have published their schedules so
you can plan out your fun time in advance. I'm pumped knowing that
car season is here!
Finally, make sure to attend this year's NCC Annual Membership
Meeting on Sunday, May 22nd at Smokey Glen Farm, in Gaithersburg,
MD. We had such overwhelming feedback from last year's event, we
couldn't pass up the opportunity for a successful encore. Make sure to
look out for registration details on our website, social media, and email
blasts; it'll be a great day for sure and we look forward to hosting
you again.
