usually reliable on the short ones.

Chipping, for sure.
Best shot I hit this year: On No. 8 (at
Mesaba), it's a par 3, and I hit it to 3 inches.

How I was inspired to improve my
game: A couple of years ago, two seniors (at
Burnsville), Gretchen Huhnerkoch and Natalie
Samb, were very good. They're now playing at
Wichita State. They showed me a lot of work
ethic, and what was possible.
If I could change one Rule of Golf: Out of
bounds rule, where you lose all your distance.
Favorite pro golfer: I really like Rickie
Fowler right now, and Rory McIlroy.
Best shot I hit this year: I was 100 yards

(at Crystal Lake), and I almost holed it. The
next shot was a par 3, and I hit it 2 feet away.
What I like most about golf: It's an
individual sport, where you have to focus a lot
on yourself-but it's also a team sport, and a
sport you can do for life.
What I like least: A lot of people don't
understand it. They don't see it as a real,
competitive sport. Especially at the high school
level, it's not as looked-up-to as a lot of other
high school sports.
Where I want my game to be in fi ve
years: I'd like to be consistently in the 70s. I'd
like to play enough to shoot that low.
Best golf book or movie: The Greatest
Game Ever Played.
What I like most about golf: It's fun, gives
you something to do, and I think I'm pretty
decent at it.
Favorite golf book or movie: I'm reading
Golf Is Not a Game of Perfect by Dr. Bob Rotella.
It gives me a lot of information on what
to do in what situations.
If I could change one Rule of Golf:
Removing loose impediments in a bunker.
I'd make it so you can move rocks around
your ball. (Local rules do allow this.)
Favorite pro golfer: Tiger Woods is the one I
most like to watch; he's the most exciting.
