Angus Flanagan Named to
GB&I Walker Cup Practice Squad
Flanagan, the University of Minnesota junior who won the State Open and
Minnesota Golf Champions titles this year, is one of 15 players who have been
named to the Great Britain and Ireland practice squad in preparation for the 2021
Walker Cup Matches, which will be played May 8-9 at Seminole Golf Club in Juno
Beach, Fla. The squad will eventually be trimmed to 10.
Amy Olson Finishes Runner-Up at U.S.
Women's Open
Olson, of Oxbow, N.D., shot 72 and finished at 282, tied for second place in the U.S. Women's Open at
Champions Golf Club (Cypress Creek Course) in Houston, Texas. With her second-place finish, Olson
moved up 29 spots on the Rolex Rankings to No. 39. Olson is a former Minnesota PGA Junior Girls
title winner and the 2009 U.S. Juniors Girls champion and also won a Division-I record 20 tournaments
in her four years with the NDSU Bison.

Mark your calendar for 8:30 a.m.
(CST), Monday, March 1, the
opening day when MGA members
can sign up for 2021 championships,
senior tour events and member
days online at mngolf.org. One
new format change to the MGA's
Mid and Senior Players' (match play) championships,
scheduled concurrently June 14-16
at Giants Ridge's The Quarry golf course outside
of Biwabik, is that qualifiers will play a
minimum of three matches in a round robin
format with the winner of each group then
advancing to single-elimination match play.
For the second consecutive year, the MGA's
net amateur championships, the men's and
women's Net Amateur and the Amateur Net
Team, will be played concurrently
Sept. 7-8 at Grand View Lodge
in Nisswa. New this year, the first
round will be played at The Pines,
with a meal following play (pending
COVID-19 protocols). The
second round will conclude at The
Preserve Golf Course near Pequot Lakes.

MGA website's Tournament Management
portal have the opportunity to contribute to
the MGA Foundation during the checkout

announced that

in order to continue

score posting. It's
a simple process
which includes
adding or verifying
a unique member
email and password
associated with
their personal GHIN
record. Users of the
GHIN mobile app
will be prompted to
update to the newest
version of the
app, allowing them
to manage their
profile from their
