MGA-PGA CUP MATCHES
In summer 2017 at Stillwater CC, the MGA cruised to a
resounding 25-15 victory over the PGA at the 41st playing of
the MGA-PGA Cup Matches. Amateurs Brenda Williams and
Lynn Anderson, and Trent Peterson and Joe O'Brien swept all
four available points in their matches versus the professionals.
The amateur victory this year made up for a professional
shellacking the last time the event was held at SCC in 1986,
when the pros won handily 26-14. Headed into the 2021
season, the MGA carries a winning streak of six consecutive
matches against their friendly professional counterparts.
