Trans-Mississippi Golf Association
Founded in 1900, the Trans-Mississippi

The CMAA, Upper Midwest Chapter
The CMAA is the professional association
for managers of private membership clubs.

Harris to Lead
U of M Golf Programs
In July, former U.S. Amateur champ and
Champions Tour winner John Harris was
named by Joel Maturi, University of Minnesota
athletics director, as director of golf for
the men's and women's golf programs. Harris,
58, returns to his alma mater where he
was a two-time All-American and Big Ten
champ. In September, Harris named John
Carlson, Katie Brenny and Ernie Rose as his

There are exciting changes happening on
the MGA website, mngolf.org. Developers
are designing a new Hole-in-One interface
that will allow MGA members to go online
to report holes-in-one and double eagles,
and to print a commemorative MGA Holein-One
certificate suitable for framing.
Those who visit mngolf.org often will
find news updates, photo galleries and video
highlights covering the local high school,
collegiate and amateur golf news. The MGA
homepage often features " live scoring " from
major amateur championships, links to important
content like score posting, handicap
lookups and the Minnesota golf calendar,
as well as digital issues of this magazine.
Look for more features designed with MGA
members in mind coming in 2011.

Minnesota Minority Junior Golf
Association, MMJGA
The MMJGA sponsors a Caddie Program,
which gives young people a chance to
discover golf and earn income at the same
time. Teens in the program learn how to
play golf and are afforded an opportunity to
earn income, respect, confidence and free
