to say. And Donald Ross employed hilly fairways
and undulating greens to defend his gem on White Bear Lake.
" We like to say it's the longest 6,400 yards you'll ever play, "
says Tom Skoglund, the director of golf. " The ball often stops
without much roll because you are hitting into faces of hills. "
On the short par-5 7th (played as a par 4 in the 2011 MGA
Amateur), the sloped fairway funnels everything right, into
rough and fescue. Find a rare fl at area on the left, miss the cantered
green short and right and then chip up for a birdie try. If
you're above the hole, you could putt right off the green.
