Tobacco, alcohol, guns and THC are legal-
but golfers have different opinions about
whether they're right for the course.
Golfers are limited to carrying 14 clubs in their bag for a round of golf, but
can haul just about anything else that will improve their golf experience. Cold
weather gear, rangefinders, sunscreen and plenty of water are common items.
For some, tobacco and alcohol are frequent carry-alongs, but not every golfer
appreciates them in their foursome. And with conceal-and-carry permitted in
Minnesota and recreational use of marijuana (THC) being considered by the
state legislature, what do local golfers' think of those items on the course?
We decided to ask. Last spring, the MGA, in conjunction with Dan Sachau
and Madison Morland from Minnesota State University-Mankato, conducted a
survey of more than 9,300 MGA members on the topic. Here are some highlights:
