Trans-Mississippi Golf Association
Founded in 1900, the Trans-Mississippi
Golf Association is one of the oldest and
most prestigious golf organizations in the

he Loop at Chaska, the state's newest
golf course, is anticipating a summer
opening.
Originally scheduled to open in the
spring, The Loop, a nine-hole course
and putting course specially designed
for disabled golfers,
mid-July.
Gloomy spring weather delayed a
2022 opening, and this winter's heavy
snowfall is at it again. According to
Chaska Town Course head professional
John Kellin, the exact date is up to
Mother Nature.
" It depends on how the course comes
through the spring, " Kellin says. " We're
looking at a mid-July course opening,
but we're considering waiting until construction
is complete on the clubhouse
and maintenance shed to open everything
at once. "
Kellin says they are planning to break
ground in May on the buildings for
completion by Labor Day. Regardless,
the city of Chaska and its partner Barrier
Free Golf are excited for the new track.
The Loop is a pilot program for other
potential adaptive courses.
" We hope to carry this blueprint to
other places and have been in talks with
a number of cities across the country, "
Kellin says.

The Fairway Foundation
The Fairway Foundation uses the game
of golf to teach lifetime values and skills
to youth who would not otherwise have
an opportunity to be exposed to the game.

Minnesota Minority Junior Golf
Association, MMJGA
The MMJGA sponsors a Caddie Program,
which gives young people a chance to
discover golf and earn income at the same
time. Teens in the program learn how to
play golf and are afforded an opportunity to
earn income, respect, confidence and free
