(tips from the pros ) All-Purpose Drill Fine tune your feel and pick up the pace of your learning. By Mike Barge, Hazeltine National GC Photos by Matt Seefeldt T his is a great all-purpose drill that kills many birds with one stone. I recommend using a short iron off of a tee. Put all of your weight on one leg (either is fi ne) with the teed-up ball opposite your foot. Make swings from that position. The drill: s Promotes balance. s Makes you swing around a steady spine angle. s Forces you to swing the club, not yourself. Make a less-than-full swing and try to maintain your balance until the ball hits the ground. The goal is solid contact every time.
