Youth on Course 100 Hole Hike
Mark your calendar for September 27:
the MGA is organizing a 100 Hole Hike
where golfers will play 100 holes of golf
from sunup to sundown at the Lafayette
Club located on the shores of Crystal Bay
by Lake Minnetonka and at Madden's
Resort on Gull Lake in Brainerd. " Hikers "
earn donations for every hole played
to raise funds for the MN Youth on
Course program. More than 90 courses
Where's Josh?
That's a common refrain heard around
the MGA watercooler this summer
with the hiring of a new social media
influencer, Josh Miller, of Maple Grove.
Miller is a former MN
Youth on Course member
and is currently
attending Northwestern
University where he is
studying Journalism and
Economics. He is hitting
the road this summer to
profile 60-plus MGA member golf clubs
around the state, and use social media
to reach the " next generation " of golfers.
Miller will be posting a variety of photos,
videos and news content on Facebook,
Instagram, and Twitter designed to
appeal to a younger demographic. He
intends to shine a positive spotlight to
each course and golf in
general with compelling
stories. Miller plans to
play rounds with fellow
social media influencers,
and notable local players
and personalities with a
focus on the MGA-related
programs that benefit all golfers around

in Minnesota participate in the YOC
program, where kids play golf for $5 or
less, and these subsidized rounds are
funded by donations as well as proceeds
from sales of the Minnesota Golf License
Plate. You can participate as a hiker, or

Tune in to 100.3 on
the FM Dial
KFAN's " Tee to Green " golf
show, featuring Paul Peterson,
Minnesota Golf Hall of Famer
Craig Waryan and the official
unofficial ambassador to golf in
Minnesota, Dan, " The Common
Man, " Cole, airs Saturdays from
10 a.m. to noon on FM 100.3.
The show runs through July and
features notable players and personalities
on the local amateur
golf scene.
