Hannah Boraas of Alexandria GC
won the MGA Women's Amateur
Match Play Championship, June
22 at St. Cloud Country Club. With
neither player more than 2-up
at any point during the match,
Boraas made an 8-foot par putt
on the 18th hole to defeat Madi
Hicks (Chaska Town Course) 1-up
and claim her first major state
victory and second overall.
U.S. Girls' Junior Amateur
Qualifying
Kathryn VanArragon (left) and Olivia Salonek (right) claimed the two qualifying
spots June 6 at Oak Glen Golf Course in Stillwater into the U.S. Girls'
Junior, July 17-22 at the United States Air Force Academy Eisenhower Golf
Club (Blue Course) in Colorado Springs, Colo. VanArragon earned medalist
honors with a 4-under-par 68 (34-34).

MGA Mid-Players'
Spring Scramble
Kady Stoll and Monica Hilger (pictured left) posted 5-under-par
67 (34-33) to secure the low-gross honors in the first flight,
May 15 at the MGA Women's Spring Scramble at Valleywood Golf
Course in Apple Valley. Anita Nelson and Kathy Korum (pictured
right) shot a low-net score of 8-under-par 64 (32-32) and claimed
the eighth flight of the MGA Women's Scramble.
and Senior Players'
Two Alexandria natives, Bryce Hanstad (left) and Jerry Rose, won the MGA
Mid and Senior Players' Championships, respectively, June 14 at Alexandria
Golf Club. Hanstad defeated Ryan Conn in the final match for the second
year in a row, this time winning with a par on the 20th hole. Rose, the current
secretary/treasurer for the MGA, defeated Mark Aldrich, 6 and 4, to
claim his third Senior Players' title since 2017.

Qualifying

Ohe shared co-medalist honors, each shooting 2-under-par 70s. Victoria's
Andrew Ballou (right picture) earned the fourth and final qualifying spot after
surviving a four-hole playoff against Lucas Arnsten. The four move on to the
2023 U.S. Junior Amateur, July 24-29 at Daniel Island Club in Charleston, S.C.
