U.S. Amateur Championship Setup Hazeltine National Golf Club and co-host Chaska Town Course will host the 36-hole stroke-play portion of the 124th U.S. Amateur Championship. Each of the 312 competitors will play one round at each venue with the low 64 scorers advancing to match play to be conducted solely at Hazeltine. (A playoff, if necessary, will be held to determine the final spots in the draw.) The champion will need to survive six rounds of match play, including the 36-hole final on Sunday, Aug. 18, to claim the Havemeyer Trophy. The champion receives a spot in the 125th U.S. Open at Oakmont Country Club in Pennsylvania as well as exemptions into the 2025 Open Championship at Royal Portrush in Northern Ireland and a likely invitation to the 2025 Masters. He also earns a 10-year exemption to the U.S. Amateur. The runner-up earns a spot in the 2025 U.S. Open and a likely invitation to the Masters, as well as a three-year exemption to the U.S. Amateur. mngolf.org Summer 2024 MINNESOTAGOLFER 23 PHOTOS: PETER WONG PHOTOGRAPHYhttp://www.mngolf.org
