Exploring Sons of Norway's New Website, Part 2
T
his past March Sons of Norway launched an
updated version of its website, sonsofnorway.com.
This article is the second installment of Viking
magazine's three-part series that explores the changes and
new additions to the new site. This month, we will shift
the focus to the new Member Resources section.
The Sons of Norway website has been considered a
premier informational resource for members and lodge
offi cers for many years. With the newest iteration of
sonsofnorway.com, Sons of Norway looks to continue
that tradition with its new Member Resources section.
Within this section, members and lodge leaders alike can
access a wide variety of information. Here, members can
access all of the benefi ts that come with belonging to Sons
of Norway. Be it programming, educational resources or
discounts, we've put it all in one place.
By spending some time exploring this section you will
fi nd our ever-popular Cultural Skills Program, where
you can learn about a number of topics that range from
rosemaling to Norwegian literature. What's more, this
section also contains our recipe collection, language
lessons, Sports Medal Program and info banks that teach
about different elements of Norwegian culture.
And don't forget about all the discounts! Next to the
celebration of heritage and culture, our discount program
is one of the most widely used benefi ts of membership. As
you may have heard, Sons of Norway has recently made
a signifi cant expansion to the discounts it offers thanks to
the new PerkSpot discount program-and this, too, can be
found within the Member Resources section.
Also, in this same section, offi cers can visit the Lodge
Leadership Resources page to get everything they need to
run a healthy, vibrant lodge. For example, within these
pages they can fi nd lodge programming resources, like
Idea Banks, Program in a Box, and Viking magazine's
Family Matters. Offi cers can also fi nd a number of
resources to help grow their lodge by reading recruitment
and retention ideas contained in the R&R newsletter
archives. And, of course, leaders can fi nd all the
administrative resources they need to conduct their offi ces,
like Lodge Forms, the Viking Resource and Newsletter
fi les. This truly is a one-stop resource for everything that a
lodge needs to operate, attract new members and be active
within the community.
Next month Viking magazine will conclude the series by featuring an article within the Member Matters section that
highlights the new Sons of Norway Foundation area, but until then be sure to spend some time exploring the Member
Resources section as well as your Member Profi le to see how the new website can help you and your lodge celebrate the
heritage and culture of Norway.
